Membership

As a member of SOLI Uganda e.V. you support our work in Uganda and help promote education, health and livelihoods for disadvantaged people.

What does membership mean?

SOLI Uganda e.V. is a registered non-profit association based in Berlin. Members belong to the association and can shape its work – through ideas, practical help and contacts. The association depends on the commitment of its members and on donations.

Members receive no payments from the association’s funds in their capacity as members. Anyone who takes on association duties may, within the limits of the budget and on the basis of a written contract with the board, receive appropriate pay or reimbursement of expenses. Contracts with board members require a decision of the general meeting.

Why become a member?

  • Support the aims

You commit to solidarity with local initiatives in Uganda.

  • Have a say

A vote at the general meeting, and a voice in the direction of the association.

  • Stay close

Insight into projects and reports, and exchange with the board.

  • Take part

In whatever way you can – with time, ideas or specialist knowledge.

What can members do?

To strengthen the association’s work and fundraising in Germany, we are looking for members who contribute as volunteers. Tasks can be shaped around interest and skills.

  • Writing for the website and public communication
  • Helping with grant and foundation applications
  • Support with financial planning and accounts
  • A monthly video call with partners in Uganda (in English)
  • Joint trips to Uganda, to meet the projects on the ground

Perfect English is not required for the video call – we aim for mutual understanding. We are grateful for any help.
